BIOGRAPHY:
The Rich Sheldon Band is praised for strong musicianship and versatility performing sing-along friendly originals (from Americana ballads to folk rock blues, reggae and grooves) plus the flexibility with creatively chosen classic-rock covers that bring a feel-good, soulful vibe. Music for the everyday people. RSB is gaining a steady following and acceptance in the local live scene of Tampa Bay with a positive reception and audience engagement. Even on occasion, paying tribute to the Rolling Stones and Grateful Dead at various festivals and regional venues.
They’ve played several festivals locally in Florida: Sunshine Get Down in Brooksville, Grateful Gatheringin Lakeland, & the Safety Harbor Wine Festival to name a few.
The band features local legend and preeminent Guitarist & Songwriter Steve Connelly with his soaring fretwork. Steve founded The Headlights, a folk-/roots-rock band that stood out in Florida during the ’80s–’90s. A high point was when Roger McGuinn (of The Byrds) tapped The Headlights to be his backing band on tour, and they appeared on The Tonight Show.
Other amazing Musicians that round out the RSB lineup are Drummer and percussionist Damon Navari with his strong vocals, Mark Messina on Bass Player (of Tiberius - house band for NYC venue Wetlands), Keyboardist/Piano Player, John Richardson (of Helios Jazz Orchestra, Infinite Groove Orchestra and Rocksteady@8) and Singer/Songwriter, Guitarist, Rich Sheldon.
One song, “Meet You In the Heavens,” was featured on Ziggy Marley’s radio site; another, “Destination Unknown,” was included in a Relix Magazine JAM OFF compilation.
