Join us on Wednesdays from June 3rd - August 26th at Rice Park for midday tunes + food trucks in the heart of St. Paul! ABOUT THIS WEEK'S ARTIST:
DGS is a violinist that breaks many conventional ideas of what the instrument can do. They perform on a five string violin that combines viola and violin into one, create multiple copies of themselves with live looping (think Ed Sheeran), and utilize very complex effects to create synths, bass, and even drums from their instrument. Their original works and covers have a “cinematic pop” sound, as if the Bridgerton soundtrack had a rock band version or if Hans Zimmer wrote for Top 40 radio. The whole experience is one that is as compelling to watch their pieces develop as they are to listen. Every layer and texture unfolding from DGS’s work is full of depth and emotion that’s sure to captivate folks of all ages.
