This event marks the completion of the Manton Outdoor Classroom and Native Plant Garden, as well as sweeping stormwater management and streambank restoration projects near Manton Pond. The Manton Pond site has been transformed into a hub for education, recreation, and resilience. It now features terraced log seating, a native pollinator garden, and direct access to the Manton Nature-Like Fishway. These projects restore the health of the Woonasquatucket River, reduce flooding, improve water quality, and create a community space for outdoor learning and engagement.
Highlights:

Streambank and Stormwater Restoration: Bioswale and retention pond construction, pavement removal, streambank stabilization, and more than 5,000 native plantings.
Fishway Connection: Direct link to the fifth passage in WRWC’s fishway system, supporting migratory fish populations.
Community Engagement: Builds on annual Earth Day events and ongoing free educational walks and workshops.
Who Should Attend:
Community members, students, elected officials, partner organizations, and anyone interested in river restoration, green infrastructure, and outdoor education.
Why It Matters:
