Estamos Aqui: Community Screenprinting Workshop for Adults

Join us for a hands-on community screen printing workshop inside the library, led by artist Grechel Rosado and her traveling screen printing cart. Over the course of 2.5 hours, participants of all ages are invited to explore the art of screen printing through interactive demos and the creation of their own unique prints.

This workshop is part of Rosado’s Interlace Grant project, Estamos Aquí, which uses mobile printmaking as a way to amplify community voices, honor cultural identity, and create shared spaces of expression. The traveling cart brings printmaking outside of the studio and into public spaces, transforming everyday places into sites of creativity and connection. Participants will learn the basics of screen printing and leave with their own prints that reflect themes of community, belonging, and cultural storytelling. No prior experience is necessary— all materials are provided.

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR

Grechel Rosado (b. 1997) is an illustrator and printmaker whose works explores identity, memory, and cultural narratives through a deeply personal and evocative lens.

A native of Puerto Rico, Rosado’s artistic practice is rooted in the complex juxtaposition between her Latin heritage and her American upbringing. Her work reflects a dialogue between tradition and reinvention, creating spaces where nostalgia and contemporary expression intersect.

Grechel has been recognized for her innate ability to weave intricate, introspective storytelling into dynamic compositions through several solo exhibitions both in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. She is also a current grantee for the 2025 Interlace Visual Arts Project grant. Her ongoing series Yo Soy Grechel serves as both an affirmation of self and an exploration of the fluid nature of identity.
