Ribbon Cutting & Celebration of New Rescue Van for Friends of Florence-Lauderdale Animal ServicesFlorence-Lauderdale Animal Services will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, April 11, at 10:00 am to celebrate the arrival of the new Friends of FLAS Rescue Van, a vital addition that will enhance the department's ability to serve animals and residents across the county.

"The new van was made possible through the support of the City of Florence, the Lauderdale County Commission, and Vital Care Pharmacy, whose partnership will help improve animal rescue operations and transport," said District 6 Council Member Chapel King.
"This vehicle will make a meaningful difference in how we protect and care for animals in our community," said Cheryl Jones, FLAS director. "We are grateful to our partners for investing in the safety and well-being of both animals and residents."
As part of the celebration, Friends of Florence-Lauderdale Animal Services will host an adoption event featuring a special promotion of $26 off adoption fees for 2026. Community members are encouraged to attend, tour the facility, meet adoptable pets, and celebrate.
