About this Event
Poole Museum re-opened in 2025 following a transformative regeneration project which began in 2018 and conserved, remodelled and restored all three of the museum’s historic buildings – Oakley’s Mill, Scaplen’s Court and the medieval Town Cellars. Three new maritime galleries were also opened.
Chris Cave of Greendale Construction will lead the tour, sharing insights into the collaborative process needed and the challenges and highlights during the process of delivering this fully accessibly community asset.
If you are able to arrive a little earlier and are able to spend a bit more time, Poole Museum currently have an exhibition - Lucian Freud Etchings: Creativity and Collaboration which focusses on Freud's passion for printmaking. Entry to the museum and special exhibitions is free.
Following the tour, we walk a few steps to The King Charles Pub for food and refreshments. There will be a short AGM, giving you the opportunity to share ideas and feedback your RIBA experience to your RIBA Dorset Branch Chair.
We are asking for a small contribution of £5 per person as numbers are limited for the tour, and your ticket includes refreshments at the King Charles after the tour.
