Welcome to Rhythm & Rhyme! Join us on Saturday, October 25th for another monthly captivating evening of spoken word, music and conversation. Hosted by Adeke Rose, our evening will feature a diverse lineup of creatives - seasoned professionals to budding artists - and more. Our October feature will be the one and only Girl Genius! Ladies and gents … come ready for your thoughts to be provoked and minds to be stirred.

It’s Rhythm & Rhyme so we invite spoken word artists, vocalists, musicians, comedians and other creatives to join us. Our September evening was a whole vibe as our open mic set was, once again, performed at Chael The Transformation Space in Odenton, MD. An intimate venue providing an atmosphere for creativity and connection .. join us.

Danielle Reed aka Girl Genius has shared the stage with some of the nation’s top poets, making her mark as both a performer and slam competitor. In 2018 she was a member of DC's National Poetry Slam team and the 2018 National Haiku Death Match Champion.

For four seasons from 2021 through 2024, she brought her voice to the Rich Ink Slam Team in Richmond, VA, and in 2021, she also won the Southern Fried Haiku Death Match Championship. She’s also ranked as one of the top 40 women poets in the world.

Beyond competition, she’s taken the mic as a host and bout manager for a variety of events, including the always-energetic Pajama Jammie Jam Slam at Busboys and Poets in Takoma Park.

Directions/Parking: The event will be hosted at Chael The Transformation Space at 8379 Piney Orchard Parkway, Suite F, Odenton, MD 21113.

Landmark: Entrance to parking lot is across from Walgreens; bear left upon entering parking lot (look for nail salon), drive over two speed bumps and park in open parking lot by red awning (with 8379 on it) | Once parked, enter through glass double doors under red awning and proceed to Suite F.
