Join us for a night of dancing to the underground sounds of Ypsilanti, Michigan at Rhizome Roots Studios - a new wellness studio and community resource downtown, where we have assembled three terrific local DJs for the evening of April 12th. Its hoped that this evening can be used to introduce local electronic dance music patrons, groups, and DJs to the studio.
We're going to start at 830 with some lowkey vibes and socializing, hoping to build community and familiarity. Then at 9 we'll have 3, 1-hour DJ sets. The DJs will have license to craft whatever vibe but we do expect it to be modern era dance music such as house/techhouse or hip hop/hip house, and to be more of the underground variety (vs mainstream, hits, top40). Expect to be impressed - they are good turntablists, too. Bimbo Revival (Queer Utopia series), Amateur Waifu (Wax Kings, Fallout Shelter, House Music for All), DJ Auld (Fallout Shelter, House Music for All). We are hoping to also have visual projections provided by VJ Voidman.
This event welcomes outside drinks, but only lawful and responsible consumption. Masks welcome, indoor vaping is unwelcome. There will be water and masks on hand. This is a no-step venue. All interactions here require both kindness and consent. The door charge is 5-10$ sliding scale, and electronic payment will be accepted as well. 18+ please.
