An intimate women’s circle exploring what we’ve inherited, absorbed or taken responsibility for—and what we’re ready to carry differently.
About this Event

What Am I Carrying That Isn’t Mine?
Some things we carry were never ours to begin with.

Sometimes it's an expectation.

A family role.

Someone else's emotions.

A responsibility we quietly took on.

A belief about what a good mother, daughter, partner, sister—or woman—is supposed to do.

Sometimes it's a pattern that existed long before we did.

And sometimes we've been carrying something for so long that we don't remember ever choosing to pick it up.

November's RH | Being Her Sister Circle invites us to get curious about what we've inherited, absorbed, accepted or taken responsibility for—and to ask:

Is this actually mine to carry?

We'll explore the roles and expectations that can shape how we move through our families, relationships and lives.

The fixer.
The peacekeeper.
The strong one.
The responsible one.
The one everybody calls.
The one who keeps the family together.
The one who doesn't need anything.

Some of those roles may have helped us survive. Some may be rooted in love. Some may connect us to women and families who came before us.

And some may have become heavy.

Because two things can be true.

You can love someone without carrying everything for them.

You can honor where you come from without repeating everything that was handed down.

You can appreciate the strength that helped you survive and still decide you don't want to live in survival mode.

You can care deeply and still have boundaries.

And you can decide that something stops—or changes—with you.

This isn't about blaming our families, rejecting where we come from or labeling everything we've inherited as trauma.

It's about becoming more intentional about what we carry forward, what we carry differently, and what we may finally be ready to put down.

What Do We Mean by “Carrying Something That Isn't Mine?”

It can look different for every woman.

It might be responsibility for someone else's choices or emotions. A role you've always played in your family. An expectation you've internalized. A pattern passed through generations. Or simply something you've become so accustomed to holding that you've never stopped to ask whether it actually belongs to you.

You don't need to know what yours is before you arrive.

And because conversations about what gets passed from one generation to another can sometimes be described as “generational trauma,” we want to be clear: this is not a generational-trauma workshop or clinical trauma-processing group.

We may explore family patterns, learned roles, expectations and experiences that can be passed from one generation to another. You decide what parts of your experience you want to explore, share—or simply witness.

What You Can Expect

We'll gather in an intimate circle where women can share, listen, reflect, connect and simply be witnessed.

Your evening may include:

  • Honest, compassionate conversation and sisterhood
  • Guided grounding and gentle restorative practices
  • Journaling and personal reflection
  • Meaningful ritual and moments of connection
  • Space to share, listen and be witnessed
  • Tea and time together

No special wellness experience is necessary. Everything is invitational. You are always welcome to participate in the way that feels most comfortable for you, and sharing is never required.

About RH | Being Her Sister Circles
One monthly gathering. Different conversations. Space for the many seasons of being a woman.

Being Her means making room for all of her—the woman who is grieving, healing, changing, surviving, questioning, resting, rediscovering and becoming.

RH | Being Her Sister Circles are intimate monthly gatherings centered around the real experiences women are navigating while continuing to show up for everyday life.

Each month brings a different conversation. Some may meet you exactly where you are. Others may not be yours right now—and that's okay.

Come for the conversation that speaks to you. Come as you are.

There is room for her here.

RH | Being Her Sister Circles are wellness and community-support gatherings. They are not group psychotherapy, mental-health treatment, or a substitute for professional medical or mental-health care.
