The University of the Arts Helsinki is pleased to announce an international conference on the various forms of music heritage. The conference is the closing event of the research project “Diversity of Music Heritage in Finland”, funded by Kone Foundation in 2023–25. The conference is co-organised by the History Forum and the Seinäjoki Unit of the University of the Arts Helsinki.Keynote speakers:
Dr Chiara Bortolotto, Research Director at CNRS (CPJ Intangible Cultural Heritage and Environment) and UNESCO Chair in Intangible Cultural Heritage and Sustainable Development at UMR Héritages : Culture/s, Patrimoine/s, Création/s with the title “Beyond Nostalgia: the Sustainabilization of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Times of Crisis”; and
Dr Marko Jouste, Associate Professor of Saami Culture, University lecturer in Sámi Cultural Studies and developer of the Saami Culture Archive at the University of Oulu with the title “Skolt Saami Dance and Music – A Transformative Journey of Tradition and Resilience
