This year our theme is “Leadership, professionalism and psychology: people skills in the legal profession”. Our AMAAAZIIING lecturers will share their insights on the role of behavior and social skills in the work of lawyers, now and in the future. What makes a good leader at a law firm? How can teams work better? How do you learn mind reading? All, or some, of these questions will hopefully be answered during the week.
Codexveckan will take place from September 30th to October 4th. The earliest of birds also have the opportunity to come for a pre-party on September 29th. A great chance to catch up with nordic friends or to just warm up before the week!
The official kickoff for the week is the Welcome lunch and our first lecture hosted at the Codex clubhouse on Tuesday at noon. There will also be drinks sponsored by Avance. During the afternoon you will also have time to get settled with your hosts. We will then take the ferry to Sveaborg for the first sittning of the week. The theme is “Nordic role models” so think of your favorite real or fictional Nordic person that you look up to and get creative! Later we’ll get back to the mainland with some time for an afterparty in town.
On Wednesday you will have some time to sleep in, with the first lecture being at 13.00 at Nordea on Aleksis Kiven katu 7. You will need to bring a photo ID! Finally after an interesting lecture we will have the city tour! It’s good to get your daily steps in before the real challenge of the week: K-supé. After the shortest sittning in the world we will sing karaoke at the afterparty.
Rise and shine! Is there a better way to hit refresh for your mind and body than a WET SURPRISE? We have something extra special planned this year, so stay tuned! After a short walk across Esplanadens vackra park we will have our daily dose of lectures, this time at Castrén & Snellman. Finally, Thursday will bring us one of the true highlights of the week: NORDIC SITTNING! The theme will be “Famous leaders”, so once again let your imagination loose and think inside or outside the box!
It’s Friday and time for ÅRSFEST! The 85 year jubilee is going to be a blast and we will start the day at 12 at Eversheds Attorneys for a lecture and preparty. At 15 we will meet at Roschier for the Medal ceremony! Finally, we will head to the banquet at Paasitorni for the årsfest itself.
Saturday brings us the PÄÄPÄIVÄ of the week, Codex sillis!! After some good food, limoncello and a search for the int.sek in hiding, it’s time for BUBBLIS! After the last sangs have been sung, it is time for eftersillis and finally VI SES I NORDEN!
The price of the week is 200€ for the week, and 180€ for the helgen, if you join from Thursday 2.10 onwards. Each association has 3 spots on the week and possible extra spots will be allocated after the signup has closed. Please sign up via your local international secretary by the 15th of September. Please state your full name, phone number, allergies/special diets, time of arrival and departure and whether you need a host or not in your sign-up. If you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to ask me! We reserve the right to make changes in the schedule.
