We see ageing as inevitable. We expect physical and mental decline, often accompanied by an increasing dependency on pharmaceuticals. But new research is starting to question this narrative and suggests an alternative: an ageing process that isn’t defined by decay. We believe that with an adequate amount of exercise, nutrition, sleep, and exposure to nature, we can recover movement, strength, alertness, and an appetite for adventure. And avoid a life dominated by medical problems.
Join our two-day workshop focused on physical conditioning and mobility issues, and, on the second day, experience the thrill of climbing outdoors.
Day one: April 19
Exercise has proven benefits when it comes to fixing issues associated with ageing– deep fatigue, chronic pain, decreasing bone health, and muscular atrophy. We’ll spend a morning at the gym practicing moves that build strength and increase your resilience to age-related problems.
Location: Get Well gym, Ao Nang
8-11am
Day two: April 20
Climbing’s blend of physical challenge and problem solving enhances coordination, balance, and brain health. As we age, maintaining these abilities is key to staying active and independent. We’ll be spending the morning of day two at North Wall in Ao Nang, climbing easy routes with accredited climbing and rehabilitation experts. We make use of the conditioning, activation, and mobility work from day one.
Location: North Wall, Ao Nang
8-12noon
Requirement:
You don’t need to have experience with strength training or climbing to attend. If you have any preexisting conditions, we request a call so we can structure the level of effort and engagement during the workshop that benefits you.
