Trees have played a critical role in the development of our great nation, from providing building materials, to sparking America's lumber industry, and standing as a symbol of patriotism during the American Revolution.
To celebrate our nation's Independence Day, Arboretum Naturalist Robert Chicken will lead visitors on a free guided history walk to several integral tree species that not only "fueled" the growth of our country, but also served as a rallying call to the people's liberty and independence.
The walk will be approximately 1.5 hours long; space is limited to 20 visitors for this walk so please register to ensure you have a spot!
