Revolutionary Harbor: Honeybees and the Impacts of Colonialism on Insects

This program is presented by the National Park Service and Boston Harbor Now as a part of our three-part Revolutionary Harbor lecture series. This lecture is the first of the series.

Nature conservation and climate change are two of the most pressing conversations happening around the Boston Harbor Islands and Massachusetts at large. Insects are at the foundation of our natural ecosystems, and yet they rarely take center stage during these conversations.

Colonialism disrupts ecosystems and shapes our relationship to the natural world. In this lecture, we will learn about the lives of insects and how colonialism drives their disappearance.
