Join us for two major events honoring the 1811 Uprising and 214 years of resistance at Woodland:
On January 8, 6:30 pm, a panel discussion featuring Dr. Ibrahima Seck, Derron Cook, and Dread Scott will offer historical insight, cultural interpretation, and artistic perspectives on the revolt's enduring impact on resistance, memory, and the struggle for freedom.
On January 11, starting at 11 am, celebrate the opening of a special pre-exhibit at Woodland with a commemoration ceremony, open house, and community lunch.
Events are free to all attendees.

Parking at Woodland for the January 11 program will be unavailable.
Please park at the following location:
Rising Star Church: 620 Cardinal Street, Laplace, LA, United States, Louisiana
If Rising Star is full, head to Destiny Christian Center: 612 Main St, Laplace, LA 70068.
Walking distance from lot is about 16 minutes.
The transportation shuttles from Rising Star parking lot will be available 9:45–11 am and after the ceremony 3:15-4:30 pm, leaving every 25 minutes.
