Minimum Division Experience:
NO
B
Entry-level or beginner division, ideal for players who are new to the sport or still building fundamental skills. B-level players are learning basic techniques like serving, passing, and setting, but may struggle with consistency and ball control. Serves are typically underhand or simple float serves with limited accuracy, and passing can be erratic. Most sets are bump sets, and hand setting may not yet be legal or reliable. Offensive plays are usually high balls or free balls with minimal shot variety, and players are still developing an understanding of court positioning and communication. Defense is reactive rather than anticipatory, and transitions between digging and attacking are slow or disorganized. Players at this level are often still learning the rules, rotations, and strategies of beach volleyball and are gaining experience through recreational games or lower-level tournaments.
YES
BB
Intermediate level, where players have developed a solid foundation in the game BB players can execute basic skills—serving, passing, setting, and attacking—with moderate control and reliability. They typically use consistent float serves and can target zones occasionally. Passing is improving, with better platform control, and players can bump set accurately most of the time. Hand setting may be attempted but often lacks consistency or may still be borderline legal. Offensively, BB players begin to incorporate directional shots like lines and cuts, though execution may still vary. Defensively, they are learning to read the game, position more effectively, and recover in transition. While not yet advanced, BB players understand the flow of the game and are actively working to improve their tactical awareness and consistency.
