First Presbyterian Church of Morgantown, WV is proud to welcome Rev. Naomi Washington-Leapheart to Morgantown on Sunday, Sept. 27.
Reverend Naomi Washington-Leapheart, a daughter of Detroit, is a Black-queer preacher, teacher, and activist. She develops spaces of spiritual candor, disruption, reflection, transformation, and action. Rev. Naomi is the founder of Salt | Yeast | Light, a consultancy that supports individuals, congregations, institutions, and groups in the work of radical inclusion, courageous spiritual practice, and faith-rooted advocacy. She is currently based in Philadelphia, PA.
Rev. Naomi will lead worship at 11:00 am, preaching a message entitled 'We Will Not Help You Disappear' using Exodus ch. 1:15-21.
Worship will be followed by a potluck lunch in the church gym at 12:30 pm (bring a dish to share as you are able).
Rev. Naomi will lead a workshop at 2:30p entitled 'From Welcome to Sanctuary: Building Communities That Can Hold Under Pressure.'
