Return to the Village: A Homecoming, Book Launch & Blessing

In the 1970s, I was a 14-year-old runaway on the streets of New York. To stay alive, I had to hustle, navigating a world that was as dangerous and violent as it was vibrant. In the midst of that struggle, I found my first sense of safety and community at the LGBTQ Center on 13th Street. It was the first place that saw me not as a statistic, but as a person.

Years later, I returned to those same halls to teach others about the most sacred of transitions: death and dying.

Now, more than fifty years after I first stepped onto these streets, I am coming home once more.

On April 19th, I invite you to join me for an evening of somatic grounding, storytelling, and sacred ritual. This isn’t just a book signing for 'Return to the Exiled Child'; it is a celebration of the resilience of the human spirit. It is about the journey of reclaiming the parts of ourselves we thought were lost to the hustle and the hardship.

We will gather just steps away from where I trained as a Yoga teacher and found my path toward service as an Interfaith Minister at the Church of the Village, honoring the 'spiritual triangle' of the West Village that shaped my soul.

They say you can never go home again, but I am proving them wrong. Join me for a grounded, soulful afternoon in the neighborhood that sheltered me as a runaway and forged me as a Contemplative Therapist. Under the stabilizing energy of the Spring, we will gather to reclaim the 'Exiled Child' and celebrate a journey five decades in the making
