Join Community Deathcare Ottawa for Return to the Earth an event that explores dying death and disposition through gentle conversation hands-on practice and creative expression. Learn how our memories can weave into community and how we can speak of grief through art and ritual. This is an opportunity to learn make share and imagine.
Our bodies nourish the world after death.
Come explore the natural return of all life to the earth through dying death and disposition including:
- Shroud creations by artist Diane Lemire
- Hands-on shrouding practice
- Tahara instruction & demonstration
- Painting a cardboard casket
- Community weaving on a shared loom
- Storytime & stone art for all ages
- Conservation burial and exploring local cemetery maps
- Reflection spaces cozy nooks and writing prompts for personal exploration
- Refreshments conversation and a warm welcome from the CDO team

This event is family-friendly! Discover stone art storytelling and colouring stations.
