It's been over a year since paddling this very special area, known as Crystal Bay. It's largely an unspoiled and shallow spot most known by locals for scallops in the summer months! For a paddler, it's an unspoiled natural ecosystem that offers up a lot of exploration! From grassy islands to rocky beaches, shoals and a 3 mile jetty off the coast where the Nuclear Plant is situated. Here's an opportunity to do open water paddling for an all day excursion or a half day adventure! Either way we can expect a slack tide where the tidal conditions will be neutral with little fluctuation so navigating the flats will be enjoyable.
Come out, paddle and experience Crystal Bay! Getting there from Tampa Bay is a 1.5 hour trip. The beach park sits 9 miles off of us 19 so around a 2 hour drive most likely. Those with inflatables are advised caution as shoals are present.
I will determine the route for the group paddlers ability. Most likely a minimum 4 hours on and off the water, but of course anyone can venture off on their own as we will paddle in a 3-4 mile radius of the launch area.
Hit me up for more info and I will post in the discussion section give some extra info for those that might have never been out there before.
