Join us at 6:30pm for a LIVE Video Game Tournament in our 35mm Museum Space next door to the theater where we will play the Nintendo 64 classic MARIO KART 64. This will be a single elimination 16-player tournament. Registration for the tournament is first come first serve. ABOUT THE FILM: This early ‘90s attempt to adapt the world of the highly popular Nintendo video game franchise brings the 8-bit action to the real world. Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo star as plumbers, Mario and Luigi, who get sucked into a parallel universe composed of dino-human descendants. While there, they must save the princess and stop a tyrannical, lizard-tongued Dennis Hopper. A box office bomb upon its release, and not resembling the source material it spawned from (instead drawing inspiration from Blade Runner and Jurassic Park), the film has since been reclaimed as a cult classic. Out of print on physical media, we are excited to showcase SUPER MARIO BROS. on a rare 35mm print.
Due to the costs associated with running archival 35mm prints at our theater, such as shipping, distribution rights, and staffing — there is a slight upcharge in pricing in order to accommodate these needs. Ticketing is General $17, Senior/Young Person $15, Member $12.
