A weekend retreat in Central Australia exploring the way of meditation in the Christian tradition. Suitable for beginners or those wishing to deepen their meditation practice.
Reflecting on Laurence Freeman’s book ‘The Inner Pilgrimage’, we’ll give simple instructions on how to meditate, explaining its significance to the prayer life of the Christian and describe the stages and fruits of the contemplative journey.
The way of meditation in the Christian tradition is one of silence, stillness and simplicity, where we come apart from all that usually occupies us to drink deeply from the source within.
Campfire in the Heart is a peaceful location outside Alice Springs, in the East MacDonnell Ranges. Guests can enjoy the contemplative labyrinth, walking trails, swimming pool, an open fire and native gardens.
Facilitated by Judi and Paul Taylor, owners of Campfire and long-time members of the World Community for Christian Meditation. They live on Dangar Island (NSW) and visit Central Australia annually to lead retreats.
