Coastal Carolina University's Jackson Family Center for Ethics and Values presents a Visiting Ethicist:
RETHINKING JUSTICE IN HEALTHCARE: DO THE LITTLE THINGS MATTER?
What does it take to build an equitable and just healthcare system? Policy and access are part of the answer, but they’re not the whole story. Guest scholar Lauren Freeman, professor of philosophy at the University of Louisville, explores how everyday clinical encounters and communication habits, even the design of healthcare spaces, can shape patient experiences and outcomes. She argues that examining these often-overlooked factors is as important as larger structural reforms.
