Rethinking dance in nightlife
About this Event
Lately we've observed fewer dancers on the dancefloor, fewer dancers hired or planned as part of an event's programming, and audiences standing facing the DJ with their phones out. What happened to dancing all night long, connecting to the music and to each other? Have we lost the essence of clubbing?
This talk is organized in the context of The Better Move, a project supported by Vibe Lab. Its goal is to increase the employment of dance professionals in the nighttime economy, and integrate more movement-based, health-enhancing, and culturally rooted experiences into club programming.
