FIRST TIME IN EUROPE!
Since their 2022 debut hit the stands Tha/Theee/Thine Retail Simps have been the talk of the town among garage punk aficionados and collector scum alike. Two more killer albums (all on Total Punk) and a whole lotta North American tour dates followed, cementing Retail Simps as one of the most exciting and unique underground bands of the moment. And now they are finally crossing the pond! With their crazy, dirty blend of boogie-woogie, proto-punk, no wave and garage blues, the space the SIMPS serenade is a grimy way station for rock’n’roll holdouts from decades past; a weird zone where shaggy 1960s garagers, cigarette-lipped 1970s longhairs, 1980s art school students, and guys who look like the saxophone player from the Muppets brush shoulders in passing with drinks in their hands. Retail Simps play music that’s loose, noisy, goofy, danceable, and weirdly one of a kind, full of reverence for rock’n’roll but without taking it too seriously. It' time to shake your hips at Antwerp Music City.

🏁 KOTSKAT (Diest/BXL/Hasselt) 🏁
Kotskat is the Belgian underground supergroup no one asked for. Ronny Rens’s (Ronny Rex) rants and declarations of love are set to a musical backdrop of primitive punk and no-wave. Kotskat is contradiction: Kotskat features (ex)musicians of Peuk, Vlerk and BRORLAB, but sounds completely shambolic. Kotskat embraces total amateurism, but writes killer cult hits like “Friends with a Cop”. Kotskat has the stage presence of a bunch of loonies waiting at a small-town psychiatric ward bus stop, but upstage any - if not all - of the trite, phony, over-rehearsed and over-managed punk-rock wankers you'll see at the Live Nation slopfests all summer long. Kotskat is punk. More punk than you. And they’ll put a smile on your face while proving they are.
