About this Event
Registration is first-come, first-serve through Scarsdale Library's registration page, found .
Join us in Scarsdale to learn more about the Hutchinson River and the ongoing efforts to restore and protect it for current and future generations. We’ll explore the river’s history, its ecological significance, and the work underway to improve its health. Most importantly, local community members will have an opportunity to connect with one another and the HRRP team. Together we can restore the Hutch!
Event Details:
The Hutchinson River is the ten mile long waterway that forms within the vicinity of Scarsdale and New Rochelle, traveling southward and serving as part of the demarcating line between Eastchester, New Rochelle, Mount Vernon, and Pelham. The Hutchinson River Parkway follows its route until it enters the Bronx and empties into Eastchester Bay and Long Island Sound. It has been an important part of Westchester dating back to Indigenous peoples. Join your friends and neighbors and the Hutchinson River Restoration Project team to learn more about this local watershed and the ongoing work to preserve the Hutchinson River for current and future generations. They will present some of the history of the river, showcase its natural beauty and ecological importance, and give a call to action for protecting its health.
Can't wait to see you there!
