Seeds of Hope documents the efforts of SAMO Fund and the National Park Service to boost native seed reserves, in order to restore the current and future burn scars in Southern California.
2nd Screening: 7:30–8:00 PM
Rooted in California: Bringing Native Plants Home follows the Santa Monica Mountains Fund as they transform two Southern California gardens into thriving native landscapes filled with California's remarkable plants, birds, pollinators, and wildlife.
This event is perfect for nature lovers, conservationists, and anyone interested in learning more about native plants & local environmental stewardship.
Parking is available in the City of Santa Monica parking structures on 2nd and 4th Streets nearby the venue.

Host: Melina Watts & Joseph Litzinger
Info: Director Joseph Litzinger is an Emmy-winning producer and documentary filmmaker best known for his work on National Geographic's Life Below Zero. His storytelling has taken audiences from the Arctic wilderness of Alaska to the native ecosystems of Southern California. He is the co-founder of the Ladyface Mountain Film Festival and currently serves as Governor of the Reality Programming Peer Group for the Television Academy.
Producer Melina Sempill Watts is the author of Tree and a watershed coordinator serving Safe, Clean Water LA. She worked pro bono on the film and helped bring its vision to life.
Producer Deanna Armbruster is the Executive Director of the Santa Monica Mountains Fund and a passionate advocate for conservation, restoration, and environmental education throughout Southern California.
