IN DETAIL:

YIN & RESTORATIVE YOGA
We gently open the body and quiet the mind through a series of supported, deeply nourishing poses drawn from yin and restorative yoga, which are held for several minutes at a time, allowing the nervous system to gradually downshift into a parasympathetic state. With the help of props such as blankets, bolsters and blocks, your body is invited into positions of ease, where it can let go of tension without needing to perform, or achieve anything at all.
This kind of practice doesn't push or pull — instead, it listens. It creates space for the deeper layers of your being to speak, settle, and integrate. As the tissues soften, breath deepens, and attention turns inward, a sense of grounded stillness arises. In this quiet, the body becomes more receptive, the mind more spacious, and the heart more open — creating an ideal inner landscape for the healing power of sound to unfold.
SOUND BATH AND SOUND MEDITATION
Let your thoughts dissolve into a sea of otherworldly tones and enter a deep meditative state where your body and mind can access the release, restoration, and regeneration they may be longing for right now. What a pleasure it is to simply be, as the resonant vibrations from gongs and singing bowls awaken a subtle echo in every fiber of your body. The hypnotic wah-wah tube and the dreamy melodies of the sansula and Japanese wind chimes carry you on a journey through the landscapes of your subconscious mind, where you may glimpse new perspectives or receive intuitive insight into what is alive in you at this very moment. Finally, the ocean drum will wash away any remaining tension from your system, allowing you to touch new depths of your own existence.
WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS IN THE BODY?
When sound and rhythm meet the nervous system, they can influence autonomic regulation through what polyvagal theory describes as the social engagement state – a safe and open neurological mode in which the vagus nerve supports calm, connection, and healing. Sound meditation activates these mechanisms through rhythmic, harmonic, and safety-signaling frequencies that help shift the system out of fight-or-flight and back into a parasympathetic, restorative state. From this state, the body’s own regenerative processes – hormonal, immunological, and neurological – are given optimal conditions to repair and rebuild.
