To care for, support, educate and advocate for cardiovascular disease patients and families in the hospital and community setting.
The Mended Hearts program founded in 1951 is for patients and families with cardiovascular disease. This encompasses the cardiac surgery and medical patient population. On a national level mended hearts brings awareness and support through education and advocacy through community support. As well as resources are available in the hospital setting. They holistically improve the quality of life across the lifespan of all those affected by cardiovascular disease. The Mended Hearts Newark chapter is the one that supports Christiana in helping our patients.
On the ICU and step-down units at the Christiana newark location we specifically provide the physical holistic care needed for these patients from the moment of admission to their discharge.
Both organizations provide heartfelt needed emotional support and guidance to all those that are connected to heart disease. We restart your heart and help you do your part to live your best life full of resources and continued personal support.
