👥 WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This course is for licensees working toward Responsible Broker eligibility and for experienced licensees who want practical broker-level education.

To qualify to apply for a South Dakota broker license, an applicant must have been actively licensed for at least two years at the time of application and must apply within six months after completing the Responsible Broker course.

Students completing the Responsible Broker course must attend all three days.

🎓 COURSE CREDIT

24 Hours REQUIRED Responsible Broker Credit

Several components of the Responsible Broker course are also approved as individual CE courses and may be taken or retaken separately for Continuing Education (CE) or Post-License (PL) credit.

Students taking the complete Responsible Broker course receive 24 hours of Responsible Broker credit. The individual CE hours are not additional credit on top of the 24 hours.

📘 COURSE DESCRIPTION

This Responsible Broker course provides broker-level education covering business planning, policies and procedures, human resources, broker supervision, risk management, property management, trust accounting, audits and real estate best practices.

The course focuses on the practical responsibilities of operating and supervising a real estate office while incorporating applicable South Dakota real estate laws and regulations.

A required final test is accessed online at the conclusion of the Responsible Broker course. CE classes themselves do not require tests.

📍 ATTENDING IN PERSON

Please arrive approximately 10 minutes before class.

Printed course materials are provided for in-person attendees.

💻 LIVE ZOOM ATTENDANCE

Students attending by Zoom must attend the entire class to receive credit.

• Attend using your own Zoom connection.
• Keep your camera on and remain visible throughout class.
• Have a working microphone and reliable high-speed internet.
• Attend from one stationary location that provides a professional environment conducive to learning.
• Do not attend while driving, walking around, shopping, working, exercising or moving from one location to another.
• Be available for attendance checks throughout class.

Please test your equipment and Zoom connection before class. Because our scheduled class time is regulated instructional time, we cannot provide individual technical troubleshooting during class.

📚 COURSE MATERIALS

Printed course materials are provided for students attending in person. Digital course materials are provided to Zoom attendees.

🎓 CE CREDIT & CERTIFICATE

Sign-in sheets are submitted to the South Dakota Real Estate Commission within 2–5 business days after class.

Your Certificate of Completion can be downloaded after passing the final exam. The download link is included in the passing email.

CE credit is issued in accordance with state licensing requirements. Students are responsible for confirming eligibility within their licensing cycle.

🔄 TRANSFERS

Transfers are allowed up to two business days before class begins, subject to seat availability.

If transferring to a class with a higher price, the difference will be charged. One transfer is included.

💳 REFUNDS

Refund requests must be made at least one business day before class begins.

Refunds are processed through Eventbrite and will be less Eventbrite and credit card processing fees. Carol’s Classes LLC does not keep these fees.

Please allow time for manual processing.

🌨️ WEATHER & CANCELLATIONS

If severe weather or another change or cancellation affects class, we will notify students by text. Please provide a current cell phone number when registering.

Severe weather may result in moving the class to Zoom. Students may also attend by Zoom if travel conditions are unsafe.
