About this Event

The Knowledge Center at Chaddock, in partnership with The Tracy Family Foundation is pleased to present 10, FREE, in-person, community presentations. These sessions, designed for community members, professional educators, behavioral health workers, and any other child and family serving individuals will utilize the principles and concepts of Chaddock's Developmental Trauma and Attachment Program® Treatment Model.


WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

This workshop will provide a brief overview of Attachment and how the brain is impacted by attachment experiences. After establishing the foundation, attendees will learn about Felt Safety. Learning about Felt Safety will include: what it is, how to establish it, and how you know when a child feels it.


WORKSHOP PRESENTER(S) NAME & CREDENTIALS & SHORT BIO:

Amanda Becks, MSW, LCSW has worked with children and families at Chaddock for 22 years. Amanda has worked in several roles at Chaddock including direct care staff, clinician, and currently serves as the Associate Director of Clinical Services. She is a Certified Threraplay® Practitioner. Amanda is also EMDR trained, has received Level 1 and Level 2 training in Dyadic Developmental Psychothearpy (DDP), and has training in Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI). Amanda has contributed to the DTAP Manual as well as children’s books focused on the DTAP therapeutic approach. Working in the attachment and trauma field within a residential treatment facility has provided numerous opportunities to help children and families connect and heal through the use of interventions focusing on felt safety, and relationships.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Social Workers, Professional Counselors, Other Child Serving Professionals

COURSE OUTLINE/AGENDA:

11:00 – 11:10 AM Introduction to and Types of Attachment

11:10 – 11:20 AM The Brain and Attachment

11:20 – 11:50 AM Felt Safety

11:50 – 12:00 AM Questions/Discussion


LEARNING OBJECTIVES: As a result of this training participants will be able to:

1. Describe the different attachment styles

2. Explain how the brain is impacted by a secure attachment or the lack of a secure attachment

3. Explain felt safety.

COURSE COMPLETION & CE INFO:

Participants need to sign in to the training at or before the start time, attend the entire training, sign out at the end of the training and complete the course evaluation to earn CE credit. Partial credit is not allowed. Certificates of completion will be emailed within 10 business days of course completion.


SOCIAL WORK

The Knowledge Center at Chaddock #1825, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 07/28/2023 – 07/28/2026. Social workers completing this course receive 1 continuing education credits.


PROFESSIONAL COUNSELING

The Knowledge Center at Chaddock has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7252. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. The Knowledge Center at Chaddock is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

1 CE credit hours are available for this workshop.

This is a free event so refunds do not apply. We reserve the right to cancel any training course, virtual or live, for any reason. Notice will be provided with the option to reschedule for a future course date if available or to receive a full refund of registration fees if TKC cancels a training program. TKC is not responsible for any expenses (including travel) incurred by registrants if a training program is canceled or you are otherwise unable to attend.
