Schedule
Sat Apr 18 2026 at 09:00 am to 04:30 pm
UTC-04:00Location
Assembly Hall, Cleveland Ave , 14752 | Wildwood, FL
As a minister, counselor, family member, or friend, you may be asked to respond to critical incidents that could include motor vehicle accidents, suicides, homicides, accidental deaths, or assaults. Are you mentally prepared to have supportive, spiritual interactions with the survivors of this type of trauma?
It is often difficult to arrive at such a traumatic scene and be able to take your personal feelings out of the scenario in order to help, support, and minister to those left behind.
This workshop will include:
• Discussions of your own experiences with critical incidents
• Exploring different scenarios you may be called to respond to as a minister
• How to communicate and minister/aid to the victims of a traumatic loss
• Techniques to help yourself deal with the aftermath of your own emotions
Many people do not know what to say or do for the victims left behind after a traumatic incident and usually stay away out of fear. We, as individuals, must be willing and able to show up or call immediately. We must be able to assist through prayer, a reading, or simply by offering silent comfort.
Drawing from over three decades in law enforcement, chaplaincy, and trauma-informed care, this workshop offers insight into the impact of trauma and how to support others with clarity, steadiness, and compassion.
This workshop will give you the guidance and confidence to be the person who shows up for those in need.
