Decorah Public Library welcomes Dr. Anna M. Peterson, Associate Professor of History at Luther College to present “Resistance in Nazi Germany,” on Thursday, April 16 at 5:30 PM in the library’s mezzanine. While a majority of Germans did not directly criticize the criminality of the Nazis as first, as the terror steadily increased throughout the 1930s, individuals and resistance groups began to engage in different forms of open and covert resistance. This presentation will examine some of the most well-known acts of collective resistance as well as acts of everyday individual actions designed to thwart Nazi aims. The presentation will also address how perceptions about German resistors changed over the years since WWII.
Dr. Anna M. Peterson is an Associate Professor of History at Luther College where she teaches courses in Modern European History, including WWII and the Holocaust.
This event is free and open to the public. No registration is required to attend.
