Resin Workshop By Harman Taneja

Photographs rarely exist alone. They are often accompanied by letters, tickets, notes, pressed flowers, receipts, maps, and fragments of everyday life that carry personal significance. This workshop invites participants to transform these memories into sculptural keepsakes by encasing photographs and small personal objects within crystal-clear resin forms. Participants will create two resin-cast memory objects that function as paperweights, desk objects, or personal keepsakes. Through layering images and meaningful ephemera within transparent resin, participants will explore memory, preservation, and storytelling while learning the fundamentals of resin casting.• Introduction to resin casting and preservation as an artistic medium. • Discussion on photographs, personal objects, and archives as vessels of memory. • Selection and preparation of photographs and personal materials. • Composition exercises exploring layering, transparency, and depth. • Demonstration of resin mixing and pouring techniques.• Creation of two personal resin memory objects. • Demonstration of demoulding using pre-cured samples. • Discussion on curing, finishing, and long-term preservation.FACILITATOR BIO - Harman Taneja is a Delhi-based artist whose practice explores memory, displacement, domestic spaces, and the emotional lives of objects. Trained as an architect, she works primarily with sculpture, resin, photography, and found materials, creating works that investigate how personal histories become embedded within everyday forms. Her work has been exhibited at India Art Fair, Delhi Contemporary Art Week, Space 118, and other exhibitions across India. She has participated in residencies including Niv Art Gallery, Space Studio Vadodara, and Art for Change India, and currently runs her own studio in New Delhi. Through her workshops, Harman introduces participants to resin as both a material and a storytelling medium, encouraging them to preserve photographs and personal objects in sculptural forms that reflect memory, identity, and lived experience.
