Resilient Roots: PNW Wool from Pasture to Craft
About this Event
We will host a free drop-in event featuring teaching the method of drop spinning, introductions to locally grown and developed sheep breeds, tours of our mill, and social gathering space for spinning. Attendees are welcome to join us throughout the day for opportunities to try one of the oldest pieces of human technology, the drop spindle, and learn to make yarn by hand.
Spinning has long been a practice of community space and companionship and as such we prioritize creating space for our community to gather and spin. We will host a spinning circle throughout the day.
Participants may keep the yarn they make. They may purchase a drop spindle and fiber of their own if they wish.
