Resilience Film Premiere & Art Showcase
About this Event
Join us for an evening celebrating the beauty, resilience, and wildness of the place we call home.
The night will feature Resilience: Islands of the American Oystercatcher by Walker Wildlife Films, exploring the remarkable return of American Oystercatchers to restored islands in the Lake Worth Lagoon, and Florida: Feathered, a collection of 22 ceramic bird studies by local artist Gaby Viteri. A special panel discussion with the makers will take place after the film.
Discover the birds, water, islands, and ecosystems that make South Florida such an extraordinary place to live. Restored islands throughout the Lake Worth Lagoon are creating new habitat for wildlife to return and flourish. Just east of us, the Tarpon Cove islands now provide nesting habitat for American Oystercatchers, part of the southernmost nesting population of the species on Florida’s east coast.
Experience the art. Grab dinner from the food truck. Meet your neighbors. And discover a remarkable story of restoration taking place right here in the Lake Worth Lagoon.
