About this Event
Reservoir Canyon Broom Bash
Want to spend Valentines' Day showing your love for the local environment? Join the Watershed Stewards Program at the Reservoir Canyon Trail on February 14, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM for our first Watershed Awareness Volunteer Event of the year!
Come help us restore endangered steelhead habitat right here in San Luis Obispo! Volunteers will pull invasive French broom, plant native seeds, and learn about the San Luis Obispo Creek Watershed. Free pizza will be provided at 1 pm for those who volunteered!
No experience necessary. We'll provide all the tools (including work gloves), but we recommend bringing a water bottle, sturdy close-toed shoes, sun protection, and long-sleeve shirts and pants you don't mind getting dirty. This event will take place rain or shine.
We have limited space, so RSVP below (35 spots max).
Directions: From downtown San Luis Obispo, take Highway 101 north for approximately 2 miles to Reservoir Canyon Road (an easy-to-miss road connected to the freeway). Turn right and drive half a mile to the trailhead parking area at road’s end.
Volunteers will meet at the Reservoir Canyon Trailhead Parking Area; carpooling is strongly encouraged as parking is limited.
