Researching in the German Language, presented by Tom Price, Genealogist
Many family historians encounter records written in German while tracing their ancestors or working with older family documents. Participants will learn practical techniques for recognizing key terms, understanding dates and names, and using helpful reference tools to begin translating unfamiliar text.
Whether you are working with letters, certificates, or handwritten family records, this session will provide useful strategies to make German-language documents easier to understand and incorporate into your genealogy research. You may discover that important clues to your family story have been waiting in those documents all along.
Wayne County Genealogy Group is held on the 4th Thursday of the month, from 4:30pm to 5:30pm.
FREE, and open to the public.
All levels of genealogists, from beginner to advanced, are invited.
