ATTN: Dayton Community!
Over the summer, I've had the privilege of researching experiences of social connectedness at music open mics in the Dayton region! I've looked into literature on open mics, group music experiences, and wrote two surveys: One for performers/audience members and the other for the directors/sound technicians. I've learned quite a lot in a short amount of time and am excited to share what's been found so far! This research means a lot to me as I've always wanted to learn how to do research. I have an awesome mentor who's helped me do just that, and I'm incredibly thankful for this experience. I hope to do more research in the future relating to music.
I will be presenting my findings and hosting a short open mic on September 5th from 6:00-7:00pm at Sears Recital Hall (Humanities Building) at the University of Dayton.
