Research IS for me!

Thinklusive are inviting you to a workshop all about research.

People with learning disabilities are an under-represented group across health and care research.

We know that people with learning disabilities face unequal treatment in the NHS compared to other people.

They experience barriers in accessing healthcare and have poorer outcomes from the healthcare they receive.

Despite accessing mainstream healthcare like everyone else, people with learning disabilities are often excluded from research. Therefore, we don’t always know what the best treatments are for them, or what research is most important to them.

For research to become more inclusive, we need to empower individuals, families, carers and support teams to understand more about the importance of research.

We are inviting you to workshop all about research.

This is the second of 3 workshops held in Summer/Autumn 2025.

The workshops will be run by Thinklusive and supported by a research nurse from East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust (ESNEFT).

The workshops are open to adults with learning disabilities, families, carers and support teams.

Through this interactive workshop, you will gain skills and confidence around research projects and studies.
