LANA MCMULLEN: www.lanamcmullen.com
A queer, disabled, operatically trained soprano gone rogue, Lana McMullen isn’t here for the fluffy stuff. Described as an artist who “stands above a breadth and depth of artistic substance that is hard to ignore” (mxdwn), Lana writes ethereal, hypnotizing melodic lines that sift through some of our murkier, more mercurial collective tropes—pain, death, fear, and isolation—and center on finding joy and self-knowing through it all.
Lana’s music has been praised as a "lyrical and musical masterpiece" (No Depression) that "blend[s] the introspection of 10,000 Maniacs with the epic, anthemic quality of early Arcade Fire” (Artist Home). They’re currently working on their next solo record, which explores folk traditions through dissonance and vocal layering. They’ve shared stages with Chris Pureka, Sera Cahoone, SHEL, Vikesh Kapoor, and many others.
ARTHUR JAMES: www.arthurjamesmusic.com
Born in Riverside, California, the oldest child in a military family, Arthur James has been traveling all his life. His songs are the landmarks of his journey and they paint vivid landscapes of the many thousands of miles he’s seen in a struggle to find the meaning of ‘home’.
His lyricism lends to his patience and attention to the substance of every song, with nods to his influences, Gregory Alan Isakov, David Bazan, Beth Orton, Brandi Carlile, Dolores O'Riordan and John K. Samson.
