Request delivery of bagged compost made by DSNY - 2026

IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ ALL INFORMATION BELOW:

Who Can Use this Form:

You may use this form to request delivery of a pallet of compost (60 bags, 2,400lbs per pallet) if you are a:

• community garden in NYC

• city agency

• nonprofit organization
• street tree care volunteer organization

Your delivery location must meet the following requirements:

• the site entrance at the delivery address must be at least 10 ft high and 10 ft wide

• street width, parking and traffic conditions must allow for a 40 ft truck with forklift to safely unload pallets.

You may be asked to provide additional documentation for us to verify your eligibility.

This form is not for residential or commercial requests. If you are in these groups, visit nyc.gov/getcompost.

How to Use this Form:

Use this form to request 1 or 2 pallets of bagged compost. Partial pallets may also be requested.

Please DO NOT submit more than one delivery request per site.

You must answer all questions in the form to complete your order.

What To Expect:

If your site is eligible to receive compost, you will receive an email from [email protected] indicating the month when DSNY expects to complete your delivery. Closer to the delivery date, we will contact you a second time, by phone and email, to confirm a specific delivery date and time.

Please note that we have a small team and you may need to wait several months for your delivery to arrive. Deliveries are scheduled from April – September.

Each address is only eligible for one delivery per calendar year. DSNY is currently not limiting requests but cannot guarantee every location will receive a delivery this year.

Each pallet contains sixty (60) 40lb bags of compost and weighs approximately 2,400 lbs.

The delivery truck is 40 feet long and is unloaded using a forklift. Safe parking and traffic conditions are required for DSNY to complete a delivery. If our drivers arrive at your location and determine the conditions are not safe for unloading pallets and/or do not meet location requirements, they will leave without completing the delivery.

You must be at the location in person to receive the delivery. If you are not there, your site will be removed from our list and will not receive another delivery opportunity in 2026.
