Renfrew Ravine Tree & Leaf Walk
About this Event
Join Ryan Regier for a guided nature walk exploring the trees that call our neighbourhood home.
- Learn to identify native tree species
- Explore the incredible structure of leaves and why these small parts of a tree are essential to its survival
- Explore how these trees survive and function in their ecosystem
- Discuss ancient and modern human uses of these trees.
This walk connects the festival's theme of Tiny Life to the natural world around us — leaves may be small, but their functioning is a marvel of biology. We'll talk trees, ecology, history, and ethnobotany, celebrating the deep relationship between people and the plants that sustain us.
