RENEWAL: an ecstatic dance and contact beyond contact journey that integrates personal renewal, transformation and mind/body/spirit healing through embodied movement, connection and collective experiencing.
This is a space to play, explore and allow curiosity to lead the way. Practicing dancing with others through contact beyond contact then either dancing solo or with others in an ecstatic dance experience. Try something new, step out of your comfort zone perhaps and be held in sacred community!
Let us welcome in Spring through the renewal of connections with self, nature, and one another, inviting the dance of life into our world in deep need of transformation.
When we dance and practice embodiment, it is not only for ourselves but all those who don't have access in this moment to dance and feel safe and held. The healing and inner work we each do individually, ripples collectively!
*Tickets for the event are $30 (Venmo or PayPal @lexamaxdi or cash at the door). $5 from each ticket will be donated to All Art Works!

About Contact Beyond Contact (Facilitated by Matthew Stackowicz):
"Contact Beyond Contact" is a reference to how we are always in contact, beyond physical contact, through our awareness, intention, senses, energy, heart, and spirit!
Contact Beyond Contact (CBC) is a dance & healing practice for personal growth, relational development, and open-hearted connection with self, partner, community, and nature. It is a practice for our dance through life - embodying energetic attunement, clear intentions, invitations, boundaries, yes & no, leadership & followship, deep listening, and co-creation.
About Ecstatic Dance (Facilitated by River/Alexa Noel):
It's a free form dance, with no choreography. Simply intuitive movement. The dance playlist creates a wave of rhythms to facilitate journeying. The intention is to form community connection and connection with one's body/mind and soul.
Ecstatic Dance Guidelines:
-This is a substance free event. Please show up as you are.
-No photographs or video recording is permitted, unless the whole group consents.
-No verbal communication on the dance floor. Feel free to leave the dance floor if you need to speak with someone.
-You may dance with or interact with others during the dance but provide clear nonverbal communication to say yes or no to engage with another. Honor your needs!
-Have fun, respect the collective space and yourself and listen to your body!
*EVERYbody is welcome, regardless of ability. This event is a supportive space to move your body as much or as little as you'd like. Listen to what your body needs throughout the dance and feel free to honor its needs.

Dance has been a soulful companion throughout my life. I first discovered ecstatic dance in the Red Woods of California in 2019 and became inspired to share this embodied, community driven and holistic practice. It has been a gift to host and co-create events in Lansing and Traverse City, Michigan, along with British Columbia, Canada. Ecstatic dance offers organic body movement, feeling waves of e-motions and connecting in a space that is supportive and liberating. Dance feels like home and sharing it is a calling and return to love.
