The program opens with Beethoven's radiant Octet in E-flat Major for winds, a work of elegance, wit, and youthful exuberance. Violinist Sam Grey takes center stage in Schubert's lyrical Rondo in A Major, a beloved showcase of warmth, virtuosity, and songful beauty. A new work by RVO's Artistic Director Brian Shaheen offers a fresh perspective within this rich musical lineage. The evening reaches its thrilling conclusion with Mozart's Symphony No. 40, a timeless masterpiece whose drama, intensity, and unforgettable melodies have secured its place among the greatest symphonies ever written.
