Caring for Your Cemetery Day is a NYS initiative taking inspiration from New York State's successful I Love My Park Day. We're hoping that volunteers--both groups and individuals--join us to help clean up our beautiful Primitive Cemetery to prepare for the Spring and Summer season. Primitive Cemetery is the oldest cemetery in the Town of Mexico, on land donated by George Scriba in 1809, and is proud to hold the remains or monuments of 6 Revolutionary War Veterans and many other veterans.
We need some people to come out with gloves, rakes, clippers, and any other tools to help clean up the grounds. Maybe someone with a small chainsaw would like to tackle some of the overgrown shrubs. Debris removal equipment will be available.
No sign up is needed and if it rains, this event will be cancelled. We hope to see you there!
