Remembrance Parade

Remembrance Sunday is 8th November this year.
This year as a group we are joining the main town remembrance parade - due to the nature of remembrance Sunday we do expect all young people to attend.
Meeting point:
We will meet at the junction of Temple Street and Hillmorton Road at 10.00am

Parade & Remembrance:
We will then, together with the other present organisations, parade with our group flags from 10.25am to the War Memorial Gate.
There will then be a short remembrance service, laying of wreaths and remembrance silence. The service is usually intended not to be specific to a particular religion (it is arranged by the council)
The exact finish time may vary slightly on the day but is expected to be approximately 11.30.
Pick-up / Collection
We will aim to gather all our groups young people on the Bruce Williams way side of Whitehall recreation ground for pick ups - please ensure that your leaders know that you have collected your young person before you leave with them.

Kit list:
Uniform
This is one of few events of the year where we are on display as and organisation - we would be grateful if all participants can be well presented with full uniform (as close as possible too):
Group necker with group badge sewn on to back - let your leaders know if you have not got one!
Uniform shirt / jumper with badges on!
Poppy
Navy scout trousers (or similar) or (ideally navy/black) school trousers/skirt
School shoes
We would recommend lots of clothing layers / thermal layer(s) and jumpers underneath shirts/jumpers
If raining waterproofs
Gloves
All young people part of the group are welcome at the parade and encourage parents/carers to stay to watch the parade - parades such as this are a great experience for young people
