Remembering with Love, A Community Event to honor Jesus-Manuel Arenas-Silva
About this Event
Jesus Manuel Arenas-Silva is the 295th person to die in ICE detention. We seek to honor his memory by helping his family raise funds to return his body to Venezuela. 100% of your ticket will be given to Jesus Manuel's family.
10 am: Vigil service
We will honor Jesus Manuel along with every victim of xenophobic US immigration policy and rhetoric. We will be honoring every victim who has died in an ICE encounter, in ICE detention, at the US-Mexico border, and in xenophobic hate crimes. We invite attendees to bring personal artifacts that can be placed on our ofrenda.
12pm-2pm: Celebration of Life
Come and enjoy food and music while we raise funds for Jesus Manuel's family. Local Immigration advocacy groups will also have tables where you can learn about what they do and how you can plug in. This is a family-friendly event and there will be activities for children.
