You are invited to attend a public symposium about Central State Hospital and participate in the discussion about how we understand its history.Join us as we hear from Mab Segrest, Keynote Speaker and author of Administrations of Lunacy: Racism and the Haunting of American Psychiatry at the Milledgeville Asylum, about her extensive research into the hospital's past.
Board Chair of Georgia’s Old Capital Heritage Center at The Depot, Inc. and Photographer of Seeking Asylum, Jessica Whitehead, will also present her work during this symposium.
Among the guests will be former staff members and family of staff members who were interviewed on their memories of Central State Hospital.
Attendees are encouraged to join in on round-table discussions to ask questions, share thoughts, and remember the hospital's legacy.
