`Body corporate committee members and owners - learn how to pick the right people, win the room and fund the fix. Major works done right.
About this Event

Your building needs work. The quotes are in. Now comes the hard part — picking the right people, getting the owners on board, and working out how to pay for it. This free 60-minute keynote walks committee members through all three.

Major works projects are where body corporate committees face the highest stakes and the least guidance. Remediation alone can run into the hundreds of thousands. Renovation and retrofitting add layers of complexity around compliance, consent, and cost. Most committees are making these decisions for the first time, with no structured method to follow.

This keynote covers the three things that determine whether a major works project succeeds or fails.

Picking the Right People How to assemble and evaluate a contractor team — what to look for, what to ask, and what the contract should say before any work starts.

Carrying the Building With You How to engage owners early, build consensus across the body corporate, and bring the building with you through decisions that affect everyone's money and home.

Paying for the Fix How to fund major works using the right mix of sinking fund contributions, special levies, and borrowing — and how to present the numbers so the committee can make an informed call.

Who should attend

This event is for body corporate committee members, lot owners and building managers and caretakers who are facing — or expecting — major works on their building. Whether you are dealing with a remediation order, planning a large-scale renovation, or trying to understand what retrofitting obligations are coming, this keynote gives you a practical framework before you spend a dollar.

Drinks and savouries will be served after the keynote.
